Fact Check on the Blatnik Bridge
DULUTH, MN – Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) released the following video to further celebrate the one-billion-dollar grant for the Blatnik Bridge that he helped secure and address the Governor and President's criticism of his announcement.

In his video, Stauber said in part, “Just because the infrastructure bill passed Congress and was signed into law, that did NOT automatically guarantee federal money for the Blatnik Bridge. In fact, the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s first application for Blatnik Bridge funding was not selected by the Biden Administration’s Department of Transportation, which is why my advocacy was necessary.”
After hearing from the Minnesota Department of Transportation about the Biden Department of Transportation’s rejection of their request for Blatnik funding, Stauber ramped up his advocacy efforts and joined Senators Tina Smith and Amy Klobuchar in sending bipartisan letters to President Biden and Secretary Pete Buttigieg urging them to change course and support the funding.
Stauber also led a bipartisan letter to Secretary Buttigieg with several of his Minnesota delegation colleagues in the House of Representatives.
