Falls International-Einarson Field to Receive $14 Million for Runway Extension and Runway Safety Area

May 10, 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) announced the Falls International-Einarson Field will receive $14 million in grant money from the Department of Transportation to fund a runway extension and runway safety area.

"As a member of the House Transportation Subcommittee on Aviation, I am proud to hear the Department of Transportation commit 14 million dollars to Falls International Airport-Einarson Field, said Stauber. "Businesses and families across Minnesota's Eighth Congressional District rely on air travel to remain competitive and connected. As the global economy becomes increasingly competitive, it is imperative we also modernize air transportation infrastructure. I look forward to seeing this runway extension and runway safety area help spur the local economy and strengthen this key regional airport."

"This grant will continue the necessary re-build of the main runway and taxiway, the most important pieces of infrastructure, of the county's and city's airport," said Bob Anderson, chair of the Falls International Airport Commission. "We thank our Congressman Pete Stauber for his key service on the House Transportation Committee and the helpful assistance of the FAA personnel in the Minneapolis Airports District Office."
