Stauber and Tiffany Introduce Legislation to Help American Seniors Weather the Biden Inflation Crisis
As inflation rises to new heights not seen in over three decades, Stauber and Tiffany’s legislation will provide inflation projections that help seniors better map out their personal finances.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) and Congressman Tom Tiffany (WI-07) introduced the Inflation Transparency for Seniors Act to provide American seniors with an inflation projection in order to help them better plan for their future. Specifically, this legislation will add the Congressional Budget Office's calculated inflation forecast to every Social Security Report.
Of this legislation, Congressman Stauber stated, "With inflation recently reaching a 31-year-high thanks to Biden's destructive economic policies, many Americans are left wondering how they should manage their personal finances. This is especially true for our seniors, many of whom live on a fixed income. America's seniors deserve better. By introducing legislation that will provide seniors with transparency on inflation projections, this legislation will not only help them better plan for their future, but it will also help hold any Administration accountable for enacting policies thatplace undue financial burden on the American people."
Congressman Tiffany stated, "The American people deserve transparency. With the Democrats' excessive spending fueling runaway inflation and impacting Americans' kitchen table budgets, the Inflation Transparency for Seniors Act will require the government to provide seniors with projections to gain a better understanding of the implications of big government socialist spending plans. Rising costs are burdening all Americans, especially those living on a fixed income."
BACKGROUND:
The Labor Department recently reported that during the month of October, consumer prices spiked at their fastest pace in more than thirty years.
As inflation reaches a 31-year-high, the Biden Administration has been pushing trillions more in spending that will cause this inflation crisis to worsen.
