Stauber Announces Housing Grants for Tribes in Minnesota’s Eighth Congressional District

MINNESOTA – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) announced that the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has allocated more than $10 million in funds between all five tribes in Minnesota's Eighth Congressional District to help with the development and operation of low-income housing.

"As the nation continues to recover, it is imperative that the pressing needs of tribal communities across rural Minnesota are met. Therefore, I am pleased to announce critical funds that will help all five tribes within my district develop more affordable housing and economic opportunities. My commitment to our tribal communities remains as strong as ever, and I look forward to delivering more wins on their behalf over the next two years."

The following tribes will receive funds:

  • Boise Forte Band of Minnesota Chippewa will receive $1,029,961
  • Fond Du Lac Band of Minnesota Chippewa will receive $3,492,377
  • Grand Portage Band of Minnesota Chippewa will receive $415,612
  • Leech Lake Band of Minnesota Chippewa will receive $4,023,388
  • Mille Lacs Band of Minnesota Chippewa will receive $1,535,940
