Stauber Announces Military Service Academy Night on May 18 for Students

April 18, 2023

Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) invites students to attend a U.S. Service Academy Information Night on Thursday, May 18th. This informational event is designed to familiarize students who reside within Minnesota's Eighth Congressional District with the application and nomination process for applying to each of the five U.S. Service Academies.

"The service academy selection is extremely competitive, and Service Academy nights are the perfect chance for interested students to ask any questions about how to apply and to learn more about the selection process," said Congressman Stauber. "If you are interested in pursuing a role to serve in the United States Armed Forces, I strongly recommend attending to receive additional information from representatives from the United States Air Force, Military, Naval, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine Academies."

Event Details:
Thursday, May 18th

Proctor High School Auditorium
131 9th Avenue
Duluth, MN 55810
Time: 6 – 8pm

Students will get the chance to hear the best practices of the nomination and application process and have the opportunity to talk with members of Congressman Stauber's staff and representatives from the service academies. Admission is free, and parents, teachers, and students at any grade level are welcome to attend.

All high school students admitted to our nation's military service academies must first receive a nomination from at least one member of their state's Congressional Delegation, the Vice President, or the President of the United States. Accepted students receive a fully funded, four-year university education and a commission as a U.S. military officer upon graduation. High school students seeking Congressman Stauber's service academy nomination should visit his website to access the application or call his Hermantown office at (218) 481-6396 to learn more about the nomination process.
