Stauber Announces Over $27 Million in COVID-19 Relief for Airports Across Minnesota’s Eighth District
HERMANTOWN, MN – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber announced over $27 million in funding to assist airports throughout Minnesota's Eighth Congressional District amid the COVID-19 pandemic. These funds were made available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and can be used by airports to help pay for operating costs including payroll for employees.
Of this funding, Congressman Stauber stated, "The coronavirus crisis and the resulting travel restrictions have taken a massive toll on local airports and aviation jobs in northeast Minnesota. As a Member of the House Transportation Subcommittee on Aviation, I understand the importance of our airports and am pleased to announce funding to help ensure these airports are ready to serve Minnesotans once this crisis is over."
