Stauber, House Republican Permitting Reform Bill Passes Committee Vote
Today, permitting legislation that includes the Permitting for Mining Needs (PERMIT-MN) Act, introduced by Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) in January, passed out of the House Natural Resources Committee. This legislation will be included as part of H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act.
“Today was a major step toward unleashing the full potential of American energy and mineral resources,” said Congressman Stauber. “By updating the onerous permitting process and limiting frivolous litigation, this permitting legislation will create certainty for domestic energy projects, secure our domestic energy and mineral supply chains, create jobs, and lower costs for Americans. I look forward to a floor vote on this critical legislation in the coming weeks.”
The PERMIT-MN Act, along with other important permitting reform bills, will become part of H.R. 1, along with legislative provisions advanced through the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
