Stauber Secures Over $19 Million for Local Projects in Recently Passed House Appropriations Package
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) voted to support the Consolidated Appropriations Act, a package of six appropriations bills which includes over $19 million in funding for projects across Minnesota’s Eighth District. Congressman Stauber requested that this money be included in this appropriations package.
Of this community project funding, Congressman Stauber said, “My top priority has always been to ensure Minnesotans have what they need to thrive, which is why I am proud to have secured over $19 million for local projects in this appropriations package. Fromimproving water infrastructure to reconstructing critical transportation corridors, these projects will benefit Minnesota’s families for years to come. I will always fight to bring federal dollars back to the Northland.”
Community project funding allows Members of Congress to advocate for projects in their districts that will help their constituents and provide a direct benefit to quality of life. For Fiscal Year 2024, Congressman Stauber requested funding for 12 community projects, 9 of which received funding through this appropriations package.
Congressman Stauber secured funding for the following projects:
- $1,000,000 for the Tower-Breitung Wastewater Improvements.
- $1,000,000 for the Wastewater System Project in Bemidji, Minnesota.
- $1,000,000 for the Water and Wastewater Treatment Improvements Project in Braham, Minnesota.
- $1,574,000 for the City of Harris Wastewater Improvements.
- $1,750,000 for the Water Treatment Facility Improvements Project in Silver Bay, Minnesota.
- $2,000,000 for the Downtown Traffic Reliever Route in Walker, Minnesota.
- $2,800,000 for the replacement of Bridge 58510 on CSAH over Snake River in Pine City, Minnesota.
- $3,048,000 for the City of Buhl Water Infrastructure Improvements.
- $5,000,000 for U.S. Highway 8 reconstruction.
