Stauber Statement on President Trump’s Executive Order on Policing

June 16, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) released the following statement after President Trump signed an Executive Order regarding policing in America.

"I was proud to be at the White House today as President Trump signed an Executive Order on safe policing for all Americans. The death of George Floyd calls for lasting change, and I am proud to see the President take decisive action on this issue. As a former police officer of 23 years, I know firsthand the incredible work that police officers do in our communities. In the coming days, I will be working on pragmatic solutions and introducing legislation to ensure more accountability and transparency within police departments while helping our law enforcement officers to safely perform their jobs."
