Stauber Votes No on Partisan Power Grab

May 15, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) voted NO on H. Res. 965, the Proxy Voting Scheme. Stauber made the following statement after the resolution was passed:

"Over the course of the past few months, Congress has demonstrated that we can safely come together during a crisis to address the pressing needs of the American people. Rather than pushing forward purely partisan power grabs, the House must be called back into session so that both sides of the aisle can continue to work together and put forward bipartisan solutions that help the American people navigate this crisis.

"Healthcare workers, farmers, truckers, bank tellers and grocery store workers across the nation are showing up to work. Congress needs to go to work just the same as these hardworking Americans. Now more than ever, the American people deserve representatives who show up, work safely, and lead."
