WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) helped introduce H.R. 4903, the Down Syndrome Discrimination by Abortion Prohibition Act, which will place a federal ban on abortions that are based on a Down syndrome diagnosis. Stauber joined Congressman Ron Estes (KS-04) and 30 other members of Congress in introducing this legislation.

With the passage of H.R. 1775, Stauber has now passed more stand-alone pieces of legislation through the House this Congress than any other freshman Republican or member of the Minnesota House delegation.

HERMANTOWN, MN – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) announced that the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension will receive a $1,192,245 grant from the 2019 Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Anti-Heroin Task Force Program. Specifically, these funds will be used for drug enforcement purposes, including investigations and activities related to the unlawful distribution of heroin and prescription opioids.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) voted to pass H.R. 4031, the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative Act of 2019, of which he is an original cosponsor, out of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. This legislation would reauthorize the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) for another five years and increase its annual funding level from $300 million to $475 million by fiscal year 2026.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) announced that the Department of Transportation has allocated grant money to two vital airports in Minnesota's Eighth District. The Duluth Sky Harbor will receive $971,946 in funds for the construction of a runway and Falls International-Einarson Field will receive $15,873,211 in funds for a variety of purposes, including the reconstruction of a runway.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) announced that St. Louis County, Minnesota was approved to become part of the existing High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Program.

The HIDTA Program, a key component of the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), provides counties with federal resources to assist the coordination and development of drug control efforts among Federal, State, local, and tribal law enforcement officials.
