WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) participated in a House Natural Resources Committee hearing to voice his strong opposition to H.R. 5598, a bill authored by Congresswoman Betty McCollum, that would kill high-wage mining jobs in northern Minnesota. As a guest of the Committee, Congressman Stauber had the chance to personally question witnesses on the impact that this bill would have on his district.

This legislation would direct states to establish comprehensive guidelines for schools on the treatment of youth sports concussions and help inform students on the signs, symptoms, and risks of concussions.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) helped introduce H.R. 5610, the Fair Care for Vietnam Veterans Act, bipartisan legislation led by Congressman Josh Harder (CA-10) that would better ensure veterans exposed to Agent Orange get the care they deserve. Specifically, this bill would expand the VA's list of presumptive medical conditions associated with exposure to Agent Orange to include Parkinsonism, bladder cancer, hypertension, and hypothyroidism.

"I am incredibly disappointed as today's decision will again needlessly delay a project that will bring decades of prosperity to northeast Minnesota. Families in our region have been waiting fifteen years for mining to begin at the NorthMet ore body and it is incredibly unfair to force them into another year of waiting.
