WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) introduced bipartisan legislation to help families with disabled dependents better afford necessary services and quality care. The Family Care Act (H.R. 4095) expands the Child Tax Credit for families with permanently or totally disabled dependents over the age of 16. The Child Tax Credit is worth up to $2,000 per qualifying dependent. Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) joined Stauber in introducing this legislation.

Currently, many smaller cities and rural communities have difficulty applying for financing for infrastructure projects through the National Surface Transportation and Innovative Finance Bureau, better known as the Build America Bureau. In fact, very few rural communities have successfully applied for funding.

H.R. 397, the Rehabilitation for Multiemployer Pensions Act, more commonly known as the Butch Lewis Act, would support troubled multiemployer pensions so they don't fail, and countless Americans don't see their retirement security decimated. It passed the House with a vote of 264 – 169.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, the House of Representatives with Congressman Pete Stauber's (MN-08) support, overwhelmingly voted to repeal a major provision of Obamacare. H.R. 748, the Middle Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Act would repeal the Cadillac Tax, a 40 percent penalty on high-value employer sponsored health insurance plans. The legislation passed with a vote of 419-6.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed Congressman Pete Stauber's (MN-08) Clarifying the Small Business Runway Extension Act (H.R. 2345), which will ensure the immediate implementation of the Small Business Runway Extension Act. Signed into law in December of 2018, the Small Business Runway Extension Act aims to provide growing small firms additional time to classify as a small business, so they can more easily vie for Small Business Administration (SBA) benefits, such as loans and federal contracts.
