WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, during a full Transportation and Infrastructure Committee markup on Speaker Pelosi's purely partisan surface transportation legislation, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) led several commonsense amendments including one to combat the tragic practice of child labor.

During this markup, Democrats broke from the decades-long tradition of bipartisanship surrounding transportation and infrastructure negotiations and blocked almost every Republican amendment, including Stauber's commonsense provision to help end child labor.

WASHINGTON, D.C. –This week, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) reintroduced the bipartisan Securing America's Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Act, legislation that will require American agencies to purchase drugs made in the United States and help end dependence on unreliable nations like China for the pharmaceuticals needed to save American lives. Stauber introduced this legislation with Congressman John Garamendi (D-CA).

HERMANTOWN, MN -- Today, Congressman Stauber (MN-08) announced that Barnum High School Freshman Ivy Polecheck has won first place in the Congressional Art Competition hosted by his office. Judges chose Polecheck's painting, "Relief from the Storm," as the winner out of more than 20 entries from talented students across Minnesota's Eighth Congressional District.

Polecheck's artwork will hang in the U.S. Capitol alongside the winning artwork from other Congressional Districts across the country.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – During National Police Week, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) led a bipartisan group of Representatives in introducing the Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act, which will ensure labor rights to all public safety officers. Specifically, this legislation will allow public safety officers to form a labor union, collectively bargain for hours and wages, and provide resolution mechanisms for impasses during negotiations.
