WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, the House Natural Resources Committee voted to advance H.R. 1657 authored by Congressman Pete Stauber, the bipartisan Lake Winnibigoshish Land Exchange Act to exchange 36.7 acres owned by Bowen Lodge for 17.5 acres managed by the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) and the Chippewa National Forest.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) voted to support the Consolidated Appropriations Act, a package of six appropriations bills which includes over $19 million in funding for projects across Minnesota’s Eighth District. Congressman Stauber requested that this money be included in this appropriations package.

WASHINGTON — On a hunting trip for deer with his bow and arrows, Levi Bock was in the woods north of Crosslake in central Minnesota when he spotted three gray wolves about 40 yards away.

Bock, 35, had come across gray wolves before and they usually avoided close contact with humans. But this trio was behaving in an odd and threatening manner.

The proposed legislation would make Minnesota a sanctuary state by prohibiting local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration enforcement and banning state government officials from enforcing civil immigration laws.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – After over a month of working to resolve the issue of Minnesotans being federally taxed on their state rebate checks, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) received a final answer from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The IRS concluded that Minnesota’s state rebate checks would still be federally taxed due to the DFL-led state legislature’s failure to tie them to federal disaster relief.
