Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) released the following statement on the Biden Administration's latest action to ban mining in northern Minnesota after the U.S. Forest Service today released a politicized environmental assessment recommending a region-wide mining ban on minerals, including copper, nickel, cobalt, and platinum-group elements in the Superior National Forest.

Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (R-Minn.) and House Committee on Natural Resources Ranking Member Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) introduced the ESA Flexibility Act. This legislation will grant landowners leeway and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) flexibility when dealing with endangered species listed under the Endangered Species Act (ESA), including the northern long-eared bat.

Last night, Congressman Pete Stauber's (MN-08) bipartisan legislation to help more small businesses compete for federal contracts passed the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill will now head to the U.S. Senate for consideration.

The Strengthening Subcontracting for Small Business Act will ensure that federal government contractors are utilizing small businesses in subcontracts.

H.R. 2794 permanently bans mining in a massive region of northern Minnesota, entirely within my district.

Yesterday, Congressman Pete Stauber's (MN-08) bipartisan legislation, co-led by Congressman Kweisi Mfume (MD-07), to help more small businesses compete for federal contracts was passed out of the House Small Business Committee.
