HERMANTOWN, MN – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) received the prestigious Spirit of Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for his support of pro-growth policies in 2019. The award was presented virtually by representatives of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce here in Minnesota in coordination with the Hermantown Chamber of Commerce. Upon receiving this award, Congressman Stauber made the following statement:
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) and Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) introduced the Last Mile Act in a bipartisan effort to bring quick and reliable broadband to rural small businesses. The bill would improve high speed internet access for rural small businesses by creating a grant program to help small businesses build the ‘last mile' of broadband infrastructure.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) made the following statement after President Trump signed an Executive Order that calls on federal agencies to purchase "essential drugs" and medical supplies from American suppliers, rather than overseas. The signing of this Executive Order comes after Stauber introduced bipartisan legislation that would require federal agencies to purchase drugs made in the United States earlier this year.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 7617, an appropriations package that will fund several federal departments. Included in this package was two of Congressman Stauber's priorities for Minnesota, including an amendment to increase funding for Native American Suicide Prevention Programs and an amendment to bring more opportunities to shipyards in the Great Lakes.

Stauber voted yes on H.R. 7027, the Child Care is Essential Act and H.R. 7327, the Child Care for Economic Recovery Act, which included two of his childcare bills that will help families save for this critical expense and prevent families from losing these hard-earned savings due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) received the Champion for Healthy Seniors Award from the Partnership to Fight Chronic Diseases (PFCD). Stauber was chosen to receive this award based on his leadership in lowering the cost of prescription drugs and protecting in-home treatments during the COVID-19 pandemic. The award was presented to Stauber by a local group of healthcare advocates through a Zoom meeting.
